A foreign judgment is considered to be any ruling by a court in any other state of the U.S. in a civil action that was not obtained by default in appearance or by confession of judgment. A foreign judgment that is filed in Connecticut that meets the requirements of the statute is considered a final judgment with the same post-judgment remedies and fees as if it were a Connecticut judgment. No fee is currently required to file these, but they are NOT currently able to be filed electronically.
